The Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension serves as the central coordinating body for RDE initiatives at Central Philippine University.

Formally established on October 11, 2024 through Resolution No. 23 CPUBT 10/11/2024.

Who We Are

Introduction

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (OVPRDE) serves as the central coordinating body for research, development, and extension (RDE) initiatives at Central Philippine University.

It directly manages, monitors, and supervises all activities, programs, and projects related to research, development, and extension.

It was formally established on October 11, 2024 through Resolution No. 23 CPUBT 10/11/2024, directing the Office of the President and the Personnel Committee to process applications for the position of Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension.

The mission of Central Philippine University is to carry out a program of spiritual, intellectual, moral, physical, scientific, technological, and cultural training, and allied studies under influences which strengthen Christian faith, build up character and promote scholarship, research and community service.

Research, Development, and Extension Thrusts and Priorities

The University shall pursue research, development, and extension (RDE) thrusts and priorities which may be subjected to review at least annually. The University is committed to supporting individual and collaborative RDE activities in all areas of faculty endeavor.

Central Philippine University affirms its strong commitment to advancing individual and collaborative research, development, and extension (RDE) initiatives across all fields of faculty engagement. While the colleges pursue diverse RDE undertakings, the University has identified priority themes that serve as strategic directions to ensure coherence and impact.

These thematic areas are aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Philippines' Ambisyon Natin 2040, the Commission on Higher Education's National Higher Education Research Agenda, and the programs of partner agencies and institutions.

This unified RDE agenda is anchored on FAITH.
